Unit 14: Reflexive Middle Verbs & Agency
Doing actions for oneself: the -addh suffix and agentive syntax.
Unit 14: The Agentive Self
The reflexive middle verb shows that an action is being performed by the subject *for themselves*. It is formed by suffixing -addh to the root.
Reflexive Logic
- Bit- (Buy) -> Bitaddh (Buy for oneself)
- Fid- (Bring) -> Fidaddh (Bring for oneself)
- Jaar- (Build) -> Jaaraddh (Build for oneself)
Example: Inni mana haaraya jaarata. (He builds a new house for himself.)
