Unit 14: The Agentive Self

The reflexive middle verb shows that an action is being performed by the subject *for themselves*. It is formed by suffixing -addh to the root.

Reflexive Logic

  • Bit- (Buy) -> Bitaddh (Buy for oneself)
  • Fid- (Bring) -> Fidaddh (Bring for oneself)
  • Jaar- (Build) -> Jaaraddh (Build for oneself)

Example: Inni mana haaraya jaarata. (He builds a new house for himself.)
